the only chocolate chip cookie recipe you need!

Sometimes you just need to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. This recipe is super easy, and perfect if you have little helpers. I make it anytime I’m attending a holiday party or get together. These cookies are crunchy on the outside, ooey-gooey on the inside, and basically the size of my hand. It doesn’t get much better than that! I have tried too many cookie recipes to count, and this one is my absolute favorite. It’s a great base cookie recipe as well, and would do just fine with some flavor changes. You could add nuts + butterscotch chips to it for a little twist, or cranberries + white chocolate chips. Yum. I know what I’ll be trying next! For now, here’s how to make these killer cookies.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of salted butter (make sure it’s room temp)

1 egg

1/2 cup of brown sugar

6 tablespoons of granulated sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups of AP flour

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon of salt

2 cups of chocolate chips (I prefer milk chocolate Ghirardelli chips. They’re huge + delish)

First, preheat your oven to 350* Fahrenheit. Add butter and sugars to a large bowl. Mix on medium until they are creamed together. Add egg and vanilla; mix until combined. In a separate bowl, soft flour, baking soda, and salt together. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do your best to not over mix. Add chocolate chips and mix with a wooden spoon. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, scoop roughly 4 tablespoon size portions of dough and place on baking sheet. This next step is very important, cool your dough!! It helps to ensure big, moist cookies, rather than flat pathetic ones. Once your dough has cooled a bit, place your baking sheet in the oven and cook for roughly 14 minutes. Everyone’s oven is different, so be sure to keep an eye on these suckers! If you make smaller cookies, they most likely will need less time to cook. One baked, remove from oven and allow to set and cool.

My favorite is to devour these as soon as they’re cool enough to pick up. I hope you enjoy them as much as my little family does!
